How to price a used RV in Myrtle Beach
Sep 9, 2026
Dealer trade-in is a wholesale bid. They have to recondition, store, and still make a margin. A clean private-party number on the Grand Strand is usually higher than that trade-in and lower than the same floorplan on a Kings Highway lot with financing tacked on.
Start with comps, then discount coastal wear
Look at similar year, length, and type — fifth wheel vs travel trailer vs Class C — listed near Myrtle Beach, Conway, and Wilmington. For current numbers, check our weekly Grand Strand RV price report. Then be honest about salt air: faded gelcoat, soft roof caulk, rusty fasteners, and tired A/C. A coach that lived at Ocean Lakes or Apache needs a real wash and roof check before you pick a number. See coastal wash and rust and who will wash it.
Leave a little room, not a fantasy
Serious local buyers expect to negotiate about 5–10% if you priced in the market. Listing 30% over “because Facebook” means they scroll past. Include sleeps, slides, length, and (for motorhomes) miles — we require those on this site so the ad looks like a real RV, not a mystery box.
